Top Businesswomen In Ottawa Spring/Summer 2013
In May of 2013, Next Big Thing magazine awarded me the honour of running my profile as one of the 11 “Top Businesswomen In Ottawa”. Under this Spring/Summer 2013 edition, the “Vanity of the Waltz” entrepreneur showcase featured my bio alongside 10 other successful women well known for their contributions to Ottawa’s business world, and considered as inspiring forces.
The fellow businesswomen featured within this publication included notable names such as France Desfosses & Sheila McLaine (Planet Coffee), Sue Aba-Akima (Akima Mobile), Meghan Max (Mind Body Soul Health), Lindsay Appotive (True Bijoux), Hana Abaza (Wedding Republic), Leslie Anne Hook (SLA Beauty Group), Amanda Lunan (Auntie Loo’s), Dr. Supriya Mishra (visionTech4u), and Gwen Madiba (House of Dare).
Day Of The Shoot
We congregated for the photoshoot at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, under the hands of the TIME Vision creative team. However, while it was interesting to have my own stylist and observe debates over accessory choices, networking with a group of outstanding women who strove to realize their own passions as diligently as I did mine was more fulfilling as an experience.
Another memorable part of the day was the interview for the exposé, through which I had the opportunity to talk about charitable groups among performing arts and animal rescue organizations which I champion, alongside my work at the InGenuity Group.
Next Big Thing
This magazine is a quarterly Canadian lifestyle and interview publication which features local and international people and events. It details business profiles, health and fitness trends, and newsworthy stories which touch on the lives of women from 25 to 50 years in North America and Europe.
Their main goals is to “showcase success stories of intelligent, ingenious and successful individuals”, particularly from among today’s women.
I’m grateful to the TIME Vision team and everyone else involved in this endeavor, including Ola George (Editor), Renee Elizabeth (interviewer), Troy Finch (photographer), Afia Agyeman (make-up), Andrea Smith (hairstylist), Avah Taylor (stylist), and the Anik Boutique for their professional and thorough efforts which helped make the Vanity of the Waltz experience a memorable one.
As well, I’d like to thank the Next Big Thing magazine for this honour and recognition of my efforts. And to my team at the InGenuity Group for their continued hard work, which has led to these accolades from the industry and media.
