Since as long as I can remember, I have loved dogs. To that end, in my spare time I provide affordable technology consulting & cybersecurity guidance to animal rescues across Canada and the US.
Specifically, I use my knowledge of information management, information technology, web development, and social media to provide plain-language instructions for animal rescues.
The SPCA of Anne Arundel County needed a fresh look. Moved the existing website from a broken Joomla template to a modern WordPress website, designing the layout to be both eye-catching and informative. All images were sourced from volunteers and the website is configured so the organization can continuously update it with the help of volunteers.
The website has received many compliments, particularly in relation to the easy of navigation and responsiveness on mobile.
Rescue Well needed help showcasing their animals. Made small but high-impact changes to the existing website by integrating iFrames that show available pets.
Other major changes include the creation of easy-to-manage adoption forms and rehoming assistance requests. Improved ability to pre-screen for any potential incidents and make quick changes to the forms.
Updated and significantly improved an existing WordPress Plugin, that allows animal welfare organizations to promote their animals in need of foster. Easy-to-update by staff on an as-needed basis.

Social media is a low-cost way of advertising services, but presenting a unified brand can be challenging when this is set up in an ad-hoc manner.
From setting up individual accounts through to configuring aggregators (Hootsuite) and setting up easy automation (Buffer), I have helped several organizations get organized and benefit from the many social media platforms.
